I have new insights.

The problem only occurs when I start statistics from "enter form"-mask via a batch file.

Is there another way to start a statistic program directly from the input form?

The issue happens also with 7.1.0.0.

That's the reason, why I didn't update my projects to Epi Info 7.

Here is an analysis program example with this issue:

The dialog "Fuer welches Jahr soll eine Statistik erstellt werden ?" doesn't get the focus and the user is waiting for a response from Epi Info.

Can more details be provided? The Classic Analysis module has quite a few dialog boxes.

Also, the latest version of Epi Info 7 is 7.1.0.0 (see http://epiinfo.codeplex.com/releases/view/90706). Does the issue happen in that version as well?

Currently, IF-THEN-ELSE commands do not work. IF-THEN-ELSE in Analysis works much like an IF statement in any modern programming language.

Where var1 and var2 are field names (columns) in a generic database:

IF var1 > var2 THEN
BEEP
ELSE
QUIT
END

Notes:

1) IF commands in Epi Info cannot be nested.

2) IF commands in Epi Info do not need the ELSE block; the ELSE block is optional. For example:

IF var1 = "Atlanta" THEN
DIALOG "Welcome!"
END

... is perfectly legal.

The WRITE dialog is currently broken. This missing functionality prohibits the user from exporting a database.

Since WRITE also acts as Epi Info's "Save As" function, it also prohibits saving the database to a different file format. For example, in Epi 3, the user can open an XLS (Excel) file using READ, and WRITE it as an MDB (Access) file.
